Vale House is a beautifully refurbished guest house located at the foot of Belvoir Castle in the Vale of Belvoir.  There are 9 bespoke rooms available which have all been carefully designed and detailed by The Duchess of Rutland.

Vale House is located at The Engine Yard; a boutique retail site, which celebrates local food, drink and artisan shopping. At The Engine Yard, you can sip cocktails at The Balloon Bar, eat a delicious woodfired Pizza at The Fuel Tank Kitchen or enjoy other fabulous food and beverage options within a stone’s throw!

We are surrounded by walking, cycling and so many wonderful activities.  The adventure playground at Belvoir Castle is a great new addition too.  Please check out the Belvoir Castle website for a full list of their events.

Vale House and The Engine Yard is also a great location to host a celebration or a work away day.  Exclusive hire options are available which could include the use of a kitchen and private communal spaces including The Duchess Parlour and The Balloon Bar.  Please email holidays@belvoircastle.com for more information.

Double / King

 

There are multiple double room options at different price points:

  • The ‘Blackberry Hill’ and ‘Rose Garden’ rooms both come fully furnished with a Super-King Bed and ensuite bathroom.
  • The ‘Elizabeth 5th Duchess’, ‘Frog Hollow’ and ‘James Wyatt’ rooms all come fully furnished with a comfy King bed and ensuite bathroom.
  • Finally, we have ‘Capability Brown’ room, which has a cosy King bed with shared bathroom facilities.

Triple

 

Vale House has one Triple room option, ‘Violet 8th Duchess.’ The room is very spacious and is tastefully furnished with both a King bed and a single bed. The room is located on the 2nd floor and has shared bathroom facilities.

In addition to the ‘Violet 8th Duchess’ room, larger groups might consider booking ‘Capability Brown’ and the ‘Japanese Garden’ rooms to take the 2nd floor exclusively.

Quadruple

 

There are two quadruple room options at Vale House.

The ‘Hermits Garden’ room is located on the ground floor and comes with an ensuite bathroom and is furnished with one King bed and two single beds.

The ‘Japanese Garden’ room is located on the 2nd floor. It comes furnished with one King bed and two singles beds. This room has shared bathroom access.

Catering & Activities

Below are some extra offerings we can provide for your stay.  For the activities, ideally, a week’s notice is needed to ensure we can prepare everything for you.

Please note that breakfast hampers need to be ordered by 5pm the night before from the Fuel Tank restaurant.

Grantham is the closest main railway station which is approximately an hour from Kings Cross London.

Check-in: from 15:00 – check in instructions will be sent after making a booking.  Complimentary parking available for all guests.

Check-out: by 10.00 – please lock your bedroom door and place the key back in the key lock box.
